VISIBLE: No

USE: To give metadata about the viewer to the webpage

SELF-CLOSING: Yes

CAN BE TARGETED IN CSS: No




They can be used to format a website to look diferently on mobile,
define characters and also give keywords for search engine searches.
Example:


<meta charset="UTF-8">

This means that the character set used, is UTF-8, The standard.

Defines a description for your website



<meta name="keywords" content="HTML,CSS,JAVASCRIPT,JS,PHP,SQL,CODE">

Used to help search engines find your webpage



<meta name="author" content="Frazer Joey">

Defines the author of the webpage



<meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1.0">

Defines the height and width of the device, in order to change the webpage depending on what device.
